Earlier today, we posted about Revel Systems, a San Francisco-based iPad point-of-sale provider, announced their expansion to Scottsdale and adding 160 new jobs over the next three years.
Since then, we’ve had a chance to hear from CEO Lisa Falzone on their expansion and why AZ?
Falzone indicated that the 160 new jobs will primarily be in sales and they are looking to fill those positions over the next three years. As for why the company chose Scottsdale and Arizona in general for expansion.
“Scottsdale and the East Valley is growing fast – much like Revel – and the region has a strong, tech-savvy workforce, which will be instrumental as we build our presence in the area,” she said.
While no executives are going to be relocating and buying a house anytime soon, she said, “we do anticipate they will be travelling frequently to the area as business grows.”

As part of their growth initiatives, Revel recently secured $100 million Series C funding from New York City-based private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) and other strategic investors. Falzone shared what is next for Revel System after their raise.
“Our funding from last November allows us to stay focused on what matters: growing and serving our customer base worldwide. We have seen tremendous response to our iPad POS technology across restaurant, grocery, and retail establishments of all sizes, including the world’s largest iPad POS deployment at more than 700 Smoothie King locations. This latest office opening allows us to tap into the regional talent around the greater Phoenix area that will help drive Revel’s global expansion.”
With the Valley gearing up for Super Bowl, Falzone said they weren’t aware of any clients doing specific Super Bowl campaigns, but because of their iPad POS systems installed worldwide, “finding and using our systems in local neighborhoods during Super Bowl time should be easy,” she said.
The Arizona offices will be located at ASU SkySong in Scottsdale and they are in the process of filling positions.
