At least a million COVID-19 vaccine appointments have been scheduled using AppointmentPlus, an appointment scheduling technology company based in Arizona.
Online scheduling is more important than ever as the COVID-19 vaccine is being distributed to facilities across the country. Vaccine administrators have been working hard to schedule vaccine appointments as fast as possible and the AppointmentPlus system has been a helpful tool in making this happen.
The app is able to accommodate current vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, despite the vaccines having different second-dose time periods. The system will also be able to schedule for any additional COVID-19 vaccines in the future.
“We are both honored and humbled that we get to play such an important role in getting people vaccinated and helping to defeat this virus,” said Bob La Loggia, cofounder of AppointmentPlus.
The company was founded in 2001 in Scottsdale by Bob and Stephanie La Loggia. Since then, nearly a billion appointments have been made using the AppointmentPlus products. Pharmacies, medical offices and thousands of other businesses around the country use the system, including 50 of the Fortune 500 companies. This number will likely increase due to AppointmentPlus’s partnership with a large pharmaceutical distribution company.
AppointmentPlus boasts a focus on security, HIPAA compliance and scalability, which is especially useful in meeting the needs of larger healthcare organizations.
The company was recently acquired by DaySmart Software, Inc.
