Price your next home improvement job with startup Bidology

For your next home improvement project, an Arizona startup is helping customers bid out their jobs.
Bidology is combining the best of both worlds by providing a space for consumers and service providers to connect.
“We make those qualified connections to you without a charge,” CEO and founder Adam Younger said.

The concept merges the bidding platform for the consumer with a platform similar to Angie’s List, a local business review website. A user can enter a service description then professionals bid their price.
“We are trying to create that mechanism for which the consumers can connect with local service providers and provide that mechanism for which the local service providers can grow their small businesses without the pay-to-play scenario,” Younger said.
Bidology ensures that each provider is verified through local state registrants and other parties to confirm they are legally authorized to conduct business.
Bidology takes care of payments through their platform and doesn’t collect their two percent service fee until the service provider gets paid.
For those worried about insurance, the company provides a “Peace of Mind” program, giving customers 100% protection even for the smallest of projects.
The service is free to both professional and customer, and at the end, both parties can rate each other.

Bidology became incorporated in March and launched their platform in the beginning of July. Since then, 900 service providers have signed up in the Phoenix area and 400 consumers are actively submitting requests.
Bidology is currently in a controlled Phoenix launch to perfect the market before expanding to other cities.
“I think the market is hungry for a solution like this,” Younger said.
