Local App Developers Making Millions By Telling People They're Ugly

Howard Stern Show
Meet Dapper Gentlemen. Partners Jo Overline and Ryan Allen are two fun and quirky App Developers that simply chased a dream. Founded in 2010, Dapper Gentlemen is a zero-capital startup based out of Gilbert. Entering the App Development scene with no previous experience and the mindset of it being an entertaining project, neither of the Dapper Gentlemen thought they would make any money.
Since their start date, they have successfully launched nine internal applications, and routinely create applications for the general public. Their competition is vast with over a half million applications currently being listed on the App Store. However, after media attention from Howard Stern, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, Fox News, The Daily Mail, The Huffington Post, The New York Post, CBS News, MSNBC, CNN, and more, on April 30th, Ugly Meter (their most popular application) skyrocketed to the #1 spot on the App Store.
That’s right, Ugly Meter took down “App Store – King of the Castle” Angry Birds, and sent it to the #2 spot.
You must be wondering, “How does Ugly Meter work?” After purchasing the app for $0.99, you simply take a close up portrait picture, then wait a few seconds for Ugly Meter to produce a rating from 0.0 – 10.0. Your rating comes along with a corresponding comment, and remember, the higher the number, the uglier you are!

Since it’s launch, Ugly Meter has been downloaded more than 5 million times! When the Dapper Gentlemen were asked what they were going to do with the proceeds, they both commented stating they have hired more staff, and wish to build the Dapper Gentlemen platform. What will they think of next?
