CO+HOOTS Hosts Event to Make Arizona THRIVE

CO+HOOTS is one of the best places in Arizona for coworking–hosting 16 businesses as well as a small army of freelancers and startups that call the spot their “office.” They’re focused on bringing members of the creative class of Phoenix together and fostering collaboration and mutual growth. One way they do this is by hosting events that bring together a diverse group of people doing big things.
THRIVE is an event focused on “personal, professional, and communal green living” that is happening at the space on Saturday, June 9th. The event organizers put this one together to provide the “eco-mmunity” of Phoenix with an opportunity to learn a lot about the efforts being undertaken to make Phoenix a more green community. The event will be full of tips on free resources to help improve the sustainability of your home and your community at large. There will be speakers presenting–including Kyle Clayton, owner of the green cleaning company Jackrabbit Janitorial and Stacey Champion of Rogue Green. You’ll also find online farmers marketplace Chow Locally at the event.
However, the event isn’t just about hearing local experts in green living speak. The organizers want this event to help push the local green community forward and they want your help to do so. There will be a “Community Conversation Board” that allows every attendee to voice concerns about the current state of Phoenix and share ideas on how it can be improved–along with creating your own personal 30-day eco-challenge. There will also be arts and crafts created with recycled and re-purposed materials. To top it all off, there will be free snacks and drinks. If you want a delicious and filling meal, local gourmet food truck Lucha Libre will have their Arizona inspired food for all you hungry attendees.
The event is totally free, but you need to go register if you want to attend. You should come out and support an awesome event that’s blending the fields of green and tech together, and pushing Arizona forward along the way. I have a feeling a lot of valuable ideas could be hatched at this event.
