University of Arizona Health Sciences has announced it will launch HealthTech Connect, a consortium designed to build opportunities for companies and organizations to pursue cutting-edge innovations in health technology.
With this new event, the group hopes to support and encourage startup, corporate, higher education, health care, funding and economic development communities in improving healthtech.
According to Pitchbook, healthtech is the fastest growing vertical in healthcare. It includes any healthcare product and service enabled by technology and delivered or used outside of a hospital or clinic.
HealthTech Connect will be invitation-only and will be held in-person in the Biomedical Sciences Partnership building on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus and virtually via Zoom webinar format.
This new event is a natural fit for UArizona, according to Caroline Berger, Director of Corporate and Community Relations for UArizona Health Sciences.
“As a University, we are in a unique position to bring people together in the biotechnology ecosystem,” she said in a statement.
The goal is to increase Phoenix’s reputation as a hotbed for biotech innovation, generate new partnerships and increase health care venture capital investment in Arizona.
HealthTech Connect is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24.
