Startup Connection event to explore using technology to build community

Startup Connection

Chandler Innovations, a business incubation and entrepreneurial development program, is holding its annual Startup Connection event on September 17 and 18.

The event starts with a reception on Friday night that will be complete with food, drinks and recognition of Chandler Innovations Incubator’s fastest growing companies. The networking opportunity will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Golf Resort in downtown Chandler.

The second day of the event will feature a series of interactive workshops and panel discussions at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center.

The theme of this year’s event is “harnessing technology to build community.” Presenters and panelists will explore the ways technology has impacted how organizations build relationships and conduct business with its stakeholders.

Organizers promise attendees will leave with the knowledge of how to use technology to work smarter and create a meaningful bond with customers, employees and the community.

Diana White, CEO of Chandler Innovations, said the organization is excited to offer an in-person event after holding the workshops virtually last year.

“We are thrilled to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts, and thought leaders to help companies that provide solutions to consumers, create jobs, and contribute to our economy,” White said in a statement.

On July 28, Chandler Innovations announced that local celebrity and morning meteorologist Ian Schwartz will be the emcee of the event.

“As an East Valley native, I know how important it is to support local small businesses, especially ones looking to improve our community through technology and innovation,” said Schwartz in a statement. “These businesses are our future.”

Chandler Innovations, which began in 2016, specializes in helping engineers, inventors, entrepreneurs and others take their ideas and turn them into profitable and scalable businesses.
