eVisit raises $1 Million in seed funding – Updated

Contributions from Chloe Nordquist
Gilbert-based telehealth software startup eVisit announced the raise of $1 million in seed funding this week led by Alan Ram, Founder of Alan Ram’s Proactive Training Solutions, Chris Reap, Investor at Northstar Capital, LLC, and Sam Blackham, an SaaS Advisor and Investor.
The eVisit software platform was built with two goals in mind, to reduce doctor wait times and eliminate non-HIPPA compliant methods of communication. With eVisit, doctors can connect with their patients virtually through face-to-face video chat.

Recently, the company introduced a mobile application and inclusive patient engagement platform to expand their services. “We are really trying to shift the platform from being more of a telehealth software to a patient engagement platform with a strong telehealth component,” Bret Larsen, co-founder and CEO of eVisit, said in a previous report.
Larson stated that the company was able to raise the money in under seven months.
“How quickly we were able to attract capital says a lot about how our team has executed on the vision of eVisit,” Larsen said. “I’ve consulted and been a part of many other startups. Being able to attract $1 million in funding in seven short months is an incredible testament to our team and product.”

The company intends to use the raise to continue to build out their platform and boost sales and marketing efforts. “We’ll be using the funds to accelerate our growth and position eVisit as a leader in providing physician first software tools,” Larsen said.
The software is now officially out of Beta, and is currently bringing over 1,000 physician providers on board. Some of the new features eVisit will be adding are clinical automation and patient engagement, according to Larsen.
The online video chat platform was also a winner in the Arizona Innovation Challenge, taking home $250,000, and grown to 13 employees in the past six months.
Larsen was a recent guest on AZ Tech Beat’s Startup Journal web series discussing “Validating the Idea.” Watch it here.
