Arizona Commerce Authority announces the opening of the Spring 2015 Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC). Applications are available for download right now and the submission window is scheduled to close on March 27th, at 3:00 PM Arizona Time.
The AIC has one of the highest award amounts in the country for a business plan competition, and for this next round, they will award up to $1.5 million to some of the most promising and innovative companies from across the state of Arizona. Companies located outside the state are also eligible to participate, as long as they are willing to relocate or build operations here if they won.
In Fall 2014, six startup companies each received $250,000 to start and grow their business in Arizona. Here are the winners:
Eligibility requirements and other details are available at www.AZInnovationChallenge.com, where you can download an application now.
All companies who apply and are deemed eligible to participate will receive independent feedback on their business plans through an online evaluation system, as well as be given the opportunity to meet with an AIC judge to review their results after the contest. Companies have found this feedback to be very useful and have even changed their business models based on it. In fact, many companies who win the Challenge have applied numerous times.
If you are an entrepreneur or stakeholder with access to technology/science-based startups, pass the word along!
