TiE Arizona turns up the heat, narrows down startups in Rapid Fire Pitch

TiE Arizona’s 2014 Rapid Fire Pitch competition is about to heat up! The group just announced the 15 startups that will be presenting at its Oct. 21st event. Here’s a look at the select few who were able to make it through the first round of elimination.

Crowd Mics: An app that turns an audience member’s smartphone into a wireless microphone.

EndoVantage: The startup provides computer simulations of medical procedures on the patients before surgery.
fitguard mouthpieceForce Impact Technologies: The group uses technology to improve sports data and analysis. The company’s first product is the FITGuard, which is a head-injury awareness mouthguard.

HumansFirst Technology: The company developed ColdSmoke, a SaaS platform that maps natural language to web services.
Infra-Tect: The company addresses pain points in underground water and wastewater infrastructure by providing technologically advanced solutions to the water installation process.
Lightsense Technologies: The group created a low-power carbon dioxide sensor that enables energy savings for commercial building owners of up to 50 percent.
Personal Web Assistant: The startup provides Intelligent Virtual Assistants for multiple markets.
Primo IAS: Created by ECOmplete, the Idle Alternative System aims to reduce the idling of mining equipment by 40 percent, which in turn, decreases costs and waste.
Rennection: The startup enables landlord and renters to manage their rental agreements on a single platform.
Ruby ride logoRuby Ride: The startup is a membership-based system that provides convenient, safe and reliable transportation options to users.

Solution54: The company provides patented software that enables brick-and-mortar retailers to pool inventory and customers, which increases sales opportunities but not overhead.
Storybyte: The app turns photos on smartphones into small stories stories that can be shared or viewed privately.
Talk 2 Legends: The mobile app connects athletes with sports fans via video chat or text message communication.
Vicinity Health: The group created Wheezy, a healthcare solution that monitors a person’s breath for biomarkers of an asthma attack. Vicinity Health processes data collected via Wheezy to enable preventative health management for people living with chronic illnesses.
