The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) has chosen four tech companies as the recipients for the highly competitive AZ Fast Grant, a grant that provides Arizona-based early stage companies with resources to grow their business.
The grant allows these companies to seek professional consulting services and commercialization assistance such as training to be more competitive for federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding programs.
More than 50 small businesses around Arizona applied for the 18 spots for a total of $141,000 plus $134,000 in leveraged funds.
Congratulations to the following tech companies who made the cut:
Elliptical Mobile Solutions from Chandler
The company is the next generation “green” solution for information technology infrastructure focusing on building Micro-Modular Data Centers.
StatTransfers from Flagstaff
The company provides hospitals a platform for easier and more efficient patient transfers.
Vicinity Health from Chandler
Makers of the product Wheezy, a device that allows patients to control their asthma through the use of their smartphone. An app provides feedback on the daily impact of the patient’s activities and offers the ability to potentially forecast life threatening situations. Read more about Vicinity Health here.
YourLabs from Tucson
An e-learning software provider. Their product, YourLabs Knowledge Evaluation System (KES) is a complete learning and assessment platform that brings together detailed student and teacher feedback for real-time discovery of learning roadblocks. Earlier this year, YourLabs was awarded a Phase 1 SBIR by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). Read more about them here.
