Startup Weekend brings its next event to Northern Arizona University on April 4-6, 2014, to help novice entrepreneurs gain knowledge and experience from seasoned entrepreneurs. Startup Weekend is an international organization geared towards advancing the startup ecosystem in the local community in which they are located.
NAU and the LaunchBox Student Incubation program have teamed up to offer entrepreneurs of all kinds the opportunity to chat with leading experts and receive immediate feedback. The event costs $25 for NAU students and $35 for a regular ticket price. Early-bird student ticket purchases will enter a student into weekly drawings to win prizes like LaunchBox swag and coffee shot gift cards.
The uninterrupted weekend will commence Friday afternoon with a few hours allotted for networking and dinner. As the night continues, pitches will be given and the best ideas will be voted on. Then, teams will form and the real work begins.
On Saturday, teams will meet early in the morning and work all day to bring their ideas to fruition. With only a few interruptions, such as lunch and a one-on-one coaching session, teams will have all the necessary tools to be ready for final presentations on Sunday afternoon. Final presentations will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday with the judging and awards ceremony slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The winning team will receive 1 year of incubation in the LaunchBox Student Business Incubation program through the Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NACET).
