IDG’s Computerworld, the leading IT media brand dedicated to providing insight into enterprise innovation from core to edge technologies, revealed the 2014 Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders honorees, who will be recognized during the 15th annual Premier 100 IT Leadership Conference. Honorees were selected for their demonstration of positive management strategies, innovation, and effective use of information technology.
Among the 100 honorees, Gerard Purcell, Senior VP of IT, Avnet Inc. was chosen for this award. “With sales in more than 80 countries, Avnet is a complex, global company. The IT systems my team and I support provide a seamless connection between our diverse businesses and make it easier for our customers to do business with us. The recent recognition we received from Computerworld is a credit to the hundreds of Avnet IT professionals working both here in Arizona, and around the globe. I’m also most pleased that Computerworld recognized our job shadowing program for Avnet’s IT employees. This is just one way in which we are developing future IT leaders within the company, and has tangible benefits for our Phoenix-based IT team,” Purcell told AZTB.
Mark T. Masterson, CIO, Arizona Department of Education, was also chosen from Arizona to receive the award. The Premier 100 honorees, along with their successes, will be featured in the February 27, 2014 issue of Computerworld, on Computerworld.com and during the Premier 100 IT Leadership Conference held March 2-4, 2014, at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.
This will be the 15th year running for the prestigious awards. A full agenda can be viewed here.
