Due to the variances in usage, web video providers have taken different approaches to this market.Phoenix-based iLinc simply focuses on being a web conference service provider to businesses.
Services
- Web Conferencing Software (iLinc Suite – Online) for meetings, education, webinars, and support
iLinc is quick to boast about their competitive pricing, highlight the cost effectiveness of utilizing web conferencing, address the cost savings and efficiencies for businesses, and even let you know about their “dedicated and diligent” US-based customer service department. But based on my experience in dealing with iLinc to prepare for this article, they may be better off outsourcing their customer service. I was actually told to stop contacting them when I was the one wanting to highlight their company in this profile article. In my email and phone requests, one of the questions that I wanted the answer to was how they compete with GoToMeeting and WebEx.
On September 7, 2011, iLinc was acquired by a voice over Internet software maker, BroadSoft Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT), based out of Gaithersburg, MD. The acquisition closed with an all cash purchase for an undisclosed amount.
