Today, GoDaddy, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, announced more than a dozen new features added to their online store offerings and streamlined the process for small businesses to complete transactions and deliver products to customers more efficiently.
As part of their initiative to help small businesses get known, the company acquired Mad Mimi last year to build out their email marketing service-a service now integrated to their e-commerce product line.
“This is one of the outputs of that Mad Mimi acquisition,” Steven Aldrich, SVP of Business Application said. “It’s great seeing the vision come together from acquisition to launching the email marketing as a stand alone, now integrated into the online store,” Aldrich said.
The key components to the new features release include integration of email marketing to the storefront, a shipping solution and McAfee SECURE certification.

With the enhanced email features, small businesses will now have the ability to capture emails and customer information from newsletter requests and sales. Customers are able to get email marketing up to 50 emails for free.
“When a customer buys from an online store, they are able to stay in touch with purchasers and suggest new products which creates repeat business,” Aldrich said.
With the concern of having credit card and personal information stolen, visiting a new store online front might cause for a pause if a customer doesn’t feel it’s secure. GoDaddy now offers McAfee SECURE certification to each online store subscription as part of their service.
“When business owners set up their site on the web and they are building their reputation and consumers want to know when they are supplying their shopping information, there is a trusted brand standing behind them,” Aldrich said.
Small business owners are constantly trying to find the most cost-effective way to ship their product. Shippo, a shipping API for e-commerce, was integrated into the GoDaddy Online Store and owners are now able to review orders, choose the cheapest carrier, print labels and track their shipment from a single dashboard.
These features and more are designed to provide “a connected set of services for small businesses to sell more and stay in touch with their customers to create repeat business,” Aldrich said.
