Chocolate, lipstick and a bedroom – 3D printers are lovestruck
The 3D printing industry has grown vastly over the past few years, with advancements in the food, beauty, and housing industries-and now you can impress your date with a few printed items. Here are a few 3D printing innovations that might spice up your romantic relationship.
Can it really be done…3D printed food? The 3D printing industry is dedicated to its niche of furthering innovation and the food industry is the latest to integrate 3D printing technology into the development of its products.
Hershey’s, the leading chocolate manufacturing company in North America, has recently teamed up with 3D Systems to produce 3D printed chocolate. The duo’s partnership will see them utilizing 3D System’s advanced printing technology to create edible delights.
3D printed sugar is also gaining traction into the maker community with sugar creations such as cake toppers and other intricate sugar objects. The 3D printed sugar ingredients include flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, mint, sour apple, cherry and watermelon.
The beauty and makeup industry is the latest industry to delve into the 3D printing world, with innovation that could greatly diminish the average woman’s makeup spending budget. 3D printing your own makeup in the comfort of your home is the exact idea that Grace Choi, a Harvard Business School student, came up with when she discovered that the makeup industry charges huge premiums for things that technology can provide for free.
Technology can provide the necessary tools to create numerous color palettes for Choi’s 3D printed makeup, which includes creamy lipsticks and powdery eye shadows. An individual has the ability to pull any color’s hex code off of the Internet to create their desired makeup product.
A Chinese company, WinSun Decoration Design Engineering, has built massive 3D printers capable of constructing an entire house from scratch. The Company has already produced 10 one-story homes in the Shanghai area using four giant printers that boast a whopping 33-feet wide and 22-feet tall stature each.
So what are you waiting for? Conceptualize and create delectable delights, cosmetics, and your very own home to spice up your love life.
