Contatta, the world’s first collaborative email, has completed a $1.5 million convertible round led by Kickstart Seed Fund II and Grayhawk Capital. In addition, all of Contatta’s current board members, including CEO and co-founder Pat Sullivan, and outside investors Desert Angels and Arizona Technology Investors Forum (ATIF) participated in this latest round of investment.
“Desert Angels are very excited to be co-investors along with ATIF to support the continued development of Contatta to be the next great innovation in collaborative email,” said Curtis Gunn, Chairman of Desert Angels.
Jim Goulka, Managing Director of ATIF adds, “Angel investors in Arizona believe in Contatta: over fifty members of ATIF in Phoenix and Desert Angels in Tucson invested through three vehicles in the company.”
With this convertible round, Contatta’s total funding will equal $7.9 million. The company stated that they plan to use the money to finish the product and take it to market.
Contatta was co-founded by Sullivan, founder of ACT! and SalesLogix, out of frustration with his own nemesis-better known as email. He wanted to build a communication tool that is highly collaborative, efficient, brings contact management and task management to the forefront, and most importantly helps a business team get out of their inbox.
“I believe we have built a product every business person will love. There is nothing like it. It is by far the best thing I’ve ever done!” Sullivan said.
Since their public beta launch in October 2013 at the DEMO conference, they have been fine-tuning their tool, and this round will hopefully get them to the finish line.
Contatta has seen much success over the last year, with capital raises, winning the Fall 2013 Arizona Innovation Challenge, showcasing at the exclusive International CES ShowStoppers and taking home 2nd place and some cash from the 2014 Venture Madness.
For those that want to try Contatta, the company offers a 60-day free trial once they release. Reserve your spot here.
