Today Apple launched the iPad Air, new iPad Mini, OS X Mavericks, new MacBook Pro and Mac Pro at their “We still have a lot to cover” event. Here are the highlights from the event and the new features of each product.
OS X Mavericks 10.9
- More than 200 new features including content tagging and website notifications
- The new OS X Mavericks 10.9 available today
- Free upgrade for users running Snow Leopard or later

New Macbook Pro
- The new 13-Inch MacBook Pro weighs only 3.46 pounds. It’s thinner, too, at 0.71 inch. With the new Intel Haswell chip and Intel irish graphics
- 9 hours of battery life, a dual-core 2.4GHz Core i7, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD
- Prices for the 13-inch starts at $1,299
- The 15-inch Pro is powered by an Intel Crystalwell chip, with Iris Pro graphics, 8hrs of battery life – prices starting at $1999. Quad-core 2GHz Core i7, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD
- Both computers carry faster PCI Express solid-state drives,Thunderbolt 2 ports and 802.11ac WiFi, while the 15-inch variants ship with dedicated GeForce GT 750M video.

New Mac Pro
- Inside is a next-gen Intel Xeon 35 at four or six cores. 1866 MHz DDr. The base model features a 3.7GHz quad-core Xeon CPU (“with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz”), 12GB DRAM, two AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, and a 256GB SSD
- Expandable to 64GB DRAM and 1TB flash storage
- Expandable via Thunderbolt 2
- Plug up to three 4k displays & HDMI 1.4
- Available in December starting at $2999
iLife & iWork
- New versions of iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band for Mavericks and iOS. They’re all 64-bit and work with iCloud
- iPhoto has a clean new design on iOS. Photobooks are supported on the iPad this time. You can upload pictures to Apple on your iPad, and they will print it and send it to you
- iMovie now lets you change speed the speed of the video; if you’re on iOS, you can do picture-in-picture as well
- Brand new feature called iMovie Theater-allows you to watch all of your videos on any device — iPhone, iPad, Apple TV stored through iCloud
- Garage Band’s iOS app now supports up to 16 tracks — double the current limit. There’s also a new feature called Drummer that gives you an assortment of different drum profiles
- iWork-Pages, Keynotes and Numbers have been redesigned for iOS7 and rewritten for the desktop
- Full file compatibility across devices and platforms, plus the ability to collaborate with others on Pages, Keynote and Numbers using iWork for iCloud
- iLife and iWork are available today, free with a purchase of any new Mac or iOS devices
iPad Air
- 7.5mm thick
- 9.7-inch Retina display
- 43-percent thinner bezel and a 20-percent thinner profile
- 64-bit architecture, A7 processor under the hood along with an M7 motion chip.
- Weighs 1 pound
- 5-megapixel iSight camera capable of shooting 1080p video, and the FaceTime camera on the front includes “larger pixels” and a backside-illuminated sensor for better image quality.

- Colors available in Space Gray and Silver
- Prices start at $499 for the 16 GB WiFi and $629 for the 16 GB WiFi + Cellular

New iPad Mini

- 64-bit A7 processor that promises up to a 4X boost in performance.
- 10 hours of battery life
- 5-megapixel iSight camera, a new front-facing FaceTime HD camera
- MIMO support for faster wireless connectivity
- Colors available in Space Grey or Silver
- Prices start at $399 for the 16 GB WiFi and $529 for the 16 GB WiFi + Cellular
- Available in late November
