Tech Cocktail Celebrate, a national startup competition and conference, will take place in Downtown Las Vegas from October 23rd through 25th. The conference attracts a plethora of startup founders, entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, investors, media, and local community leaders from across the country.
Throughout the year, Tech Cocktail traveled far and wide with the goal of uncovering the nation’s hottest startups. In over 20 cities, they hosted startup competitions to identify some of the best early stage startups from coast to coast. Two startups from Arizona, Ducotrax and Theraspecs, were selected to compete in the competition with a chance to win $10,000 and other prizes. Each company will also be showcased in the Startup Pavilion.
Ducotrax, based in Phoenix, developed a mobile application that allows clients to use their smartphones to scan bar codes and track inventory away from their desk for tasks such as receiving shipments, picking up orders, or moving inventory in a warehouse. Read our coverage about Ducotrax here.
Charles Keatley, Co-Founder and CEO of Ducotrax says, “We are very excited about the Tech Cocktail event! This year, Ducotrax has already generated over $300K in revenue. The most exciting thing about that is Ducotrax and the enormous growth potential of the software platform. The AZ tech ecosystem was what drew me to Phoenix originally and the need for developers is high. The tech community that exists in Arizona is top notch, and has granted me many helpful hands up along the way. The growth of my company and the stronger than average economy in Arizona is proof of that.”
Theraspec, a SeedSpot venture, developed precision tinted glasses that filter certain wavelengths of light that often cause headaches, migraines, eyestrain, photophobia, epilepsy, and many other health problems. Founder Hart Shafer explains that TheraSpecs “was born out of a personal need.” His wife, Kerrie, suffers from chronic migraines and headaches. Read about our coverage of Theraspecs here.
For the competition, each company will be asked to give a two-minute pitch on stage to introduce their startup to our attendees. Best of luck to both AZ Startups!
