From running errands to picking up groceries, simple tasks can become increasingly difficult for seniors. Envoy, the senior care concierge platform designed to aid in everyday duties, expanded to Phoenix.
“Envoy is a family concierge service designed for seniors and their loved ones,” Envoy CEO Justin Lin said.
Based on the customer’s needs, the platform pairs up “Envoys,” or assistants, to fulfill duties on a weekly or biweekly schedule.
The service “helps with everything from local shopping to errands to [tasks] inside the home like washing dishes,” according to Lin. “It’s a piece of mind families have never had before,” he said.
The platform is available via web, mobile or phone to set-up and request services. Adult children of the customer can also have a profile on Envoy to monitor activity.
Lin said that Envoys are typically people who are looking for part-time work. Applicants are interviewed, background checked, and then go through Envoy school which ends with a simulated client visit at the end.
“We spent a lot of time figuring out, ‘What does a great Envoy look like?’,” Lin said. Once a potential Envoy has completed a simulation, they are approved by an Envoy coach to start working and accepting clients.
“Envoy earnings are basically calculated on clients served and the length of the visit,” Lin said. “There’s a formula that determines how they get paid.”

Envoy aims to fill the space in the industry that comes before in-home care. “It’s really first to focus on seniors who need a little bit of help,” Lin said. “That’s where an Envoy can really ease that burden and stress.”
The price of Envoy depends on need of the client; for biweekly visits the price is $119 a month and for weekly visits the cost is $199 a month.
Envoy raised $3 million in seed funding in September, which could help with their expansion to new states.
Since their launch in 2012, the company has grown to serve thousands of clients with over 500 Envoys across eight states and will soon be expanding to the east coast, according to Lin.
“We are really happy to be in Arizona in Phoenix and other cities in the state soon,” he said.
