Sensagrate, a software company based in Scottsdale, and Innoviz Technologies, which is headquartered in Israel, announced a partnership to enable a variety of Smart City applications meant to create safer cities by improving road safety.
Sensagrate has created the Smart City technology, as well as data analytics and reporting products, to monitor traffic, pedestrian and cyclist safety in real time. Innoviz Technologies created the LiDAR sensors and perception software.
By inserting LiDAR sensors into SensaVision, Sensagrate’s computer vision software, cities will be able to improve pedestrian and car safety, like preventing collisions at intersections. The software will collect unique data that points to the root cause of pedestrian-related accidents. The LiDAR-based intelligent traffic decisions will improve traffic flow, ultimately reducing congestion, fatalities and emissions.
This collection of data is expected to advance city planning by building predictive models that help cities increase road safety and decrease congestion.
“Innoviz is very happy to have been chosen by Sensagrate for their Smart City and Smart Transportation applications,” said Innoviz co-founder and CEO Omer Keilaf in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with Sensagrate to advance the safety of future cities starting today.”
Sensagrate applauded the high resolution of Innoviz’s product, which will allow SensaVision to track cars, pedestrians and any obstacles easily.
“We found the range and point density of InnovizOne uniquely suited to the SensaVision smart and safe intelligent transportation system solution because we can angle the LiDAR for optimal coverage,” said President of Sensagrate Darryl Keeton in a statement. “The size and industrial design of InnovizOne is a perfect fit for integrating sensors into traffic signals with ease.”
Innoviz’s LiDAR technology was created to put autonomous cars on roads everywhere. Innoviz says LiDAR technology can “see” better than a human driver.
For now, Innoviz will use its LiDAR technology to help Sensagrate improve its current traffic AI solutions.
