Pitching on an international stage – Ross Shanken ParkX

Video contributions from Xavier Smith
It’s one thing to pitch on stage at the Phoenix Orpheum Theater, it’s another to travel halfway around the world to pitch in Barcelona.
The Smart City App Hack 2015 was a global event where 11 cities, Phoenix included, held a competition where participants were to present an app that offers a solution to one of five global civic challenges: urban mobility, energy and emissions, shopping and retail, culture and tourism, and the collaborative city.

ParkX, a customizable mobile platform to help people find and pay for parking through their smartphone, was the winner from Phoenix and traveled to Spain to compete against other startups from around the world at the Barcelona Smart City Expo in front of a panel of international judges.
Ross Shanken, co-founder and CEO ParkX, shares his experience about pitching on the international stage and what he learned along the way. Watch our exclusive video with him here.
