CO+HOOTS launches socially-conscious art marketplace

The founders of CO+HOOTS have launched their fourth business in Phoenix — an ecommerce site for art prints where a portion of the proceeds are sent back into a community.
Odeen Domingo and his wife Jenny Poon have acquired, rebranded, and launched Fresh Words Market, a marketplace that features art prints with positive messaging.
“We decided to take on Fresh Words Market because we saw it as an opportunity to grow the success and expand the reach that the company had already achieved,” Domingo said. “We already knew the company’s brand, its audience and its potential as a business as well as a tool to help others. So we thought it was a perfect fit for us.”

Fresh Words Market donates to nonprofits worldwide. It has previously partnered with nonprofits across the world including Phoenix, Los Angeles, Haiti, Seattle, and Mexico.
“Every FreshWordsMarket.com print benefits a bigger cause,” Poon said. “It’s a start to a movement to empower those who need empowering, support those who are doing good and inspire everyone to always stay adventurous no matter what the world has thrown at them.”

The company was headquartered in California, before Domingo and Poon moved the company to Phoenix.
Currently, 15 percent of each purchase benefits anti-bullying organization Free2Luv. Each online print is produced on recycled paper stock with earth-friendly inks.

Fresh Words Market is also a vendor at a pop-up shop in Scottsdale hosted by local nonprofit Global Family Philanthropy. They will be part of this until the end of September Friday through Sunday. A portion of the sales from the pop up shop will be donated to Global Family Philanthropy.
Since 2010, Fresh Words Market has impacted more than 25 nonprofits around the world.
“Fresh Words Market was founded in 2010 with the help of eeko studio, the graphic design and marketing agency that Jenny and I own,” Domingo said. “eeko studio created Fresh Words Market’s original branding and website. Since Fresh Words Market’s founding, Jenny was the company’s main contributing artist who designed many of the art prints sold.”
