A new co-working space has opened in Queen Creek with the intention of bridging important resources to prospective small businesses.
Gangplank cut the ribbon on its new location in the Queen Creek Town Center on April 9th after being approved for a one year lease with the town council in February.
“Our vision for the Gangplank cooperative is to have a resource right here in Queen Creek to help small businesses grow and stay in [in our town],” said Mayor of Queen Creek Gail Barney.
Gangplank will provide free working space for local companies as well as initiatives that help with running a business.
“We are looking to have Gangplank surface the creatives and get them collaborating,” said Derek Neighbors, the co-founder of Gangplank. “Gangplank will serve as the environment to allow serendipity to do its magic.”
Neighbors said there is strong data to suggest a base of creative individuals in Queen Creek and that Gangplank will hopefully become an exciting presence within the business atmosphere.
“We are hopeful that Gangplank QC will help us identify entrepreneurs and tech companies that are ready to launch or take their operations to the next level,” said Doreen Cott, the Economic Development Director for Queen Creek.
Gangplank is free to users. The space offers free wifi, with conference and break-out session room space. Cott said in the near future they hope to offer additional amenities such as 3D printer and large computer monitors.
The co-working space is located at 22246 S. Ellsworth Road and is open to the public for free from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
