InnovateUA, a student-led entrepreneurial organization at the University of Arizona, is hosting the Southwest’s largest-ever hackathon from March 6-8, 2015. The hackathon, dubbed ‘Hack Arizona,’ expects close to 500 participants, mostly students, to partake in the three day hacking event.
With drones as a focus at Hack Arizona, Nick Morin, Director of InnovateUA shared that lead sponsor Raytheon will be supplying large numbers of Parrot drones and talented engineers to help students work with the unmanned aircraft. Amazon and State Farm have also helped sponsor the event to make it free to all participants.
Hack Arizona partnered with Major League Hacking (MLH), that helps put on over 100 student hackathons across North America and Europe. Every year MLH gives students unique chances to create, innovate and network with leading edge technology and mentors.
The hacking begins on Friday night, March 6th at 8:00 p.m. and concludes on Sunday morning, March 8th at 9:00 a.m., so get your Red Bull and coffee ready for a weekend full of fun. Once the hackathon ends, the competition starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. University of Arizona Science-Engineering Library 744 N. Highland Ave. Tucson, AZ.
