It’s day two of Phoenix Startup Week and Scottsdale Director of Scottsdale Economic Development Danielle Casey kicked off the day’s events at the DeskHub theater in downtown Scottsdale.
The City of Scottsdale is an entrepreneur’s dream, Casey said. Scottsdale is supporting startups and entrepreneurs so they can grow and find top talent through city led legislation.
Casey discussed how Scottsdale is committed to the technology industry and making sure through their partnerships with organizations like ASU at Skysong. The goal is to create a connected community where businesses can grow and have a meaningful impact.
Scott Salkin, CEO of Allbound, is set to talk today for the lunch and learn at 11:30 where he will talk about his time spent in San Francisco and what he learned about growing a company in San Francisco and in Arizona.
Salkin said one of the reasons why so many big startups like Yelp and Zenefits were able to flourish in San Francisco because of the tight knit community and the openness to building new concepts.
