In the heart of Phoenix downtown sits a historic block called the Luhrs City Center which includes the neoclassical Luhrs Building (1924), the 14-story Art Deco Luhrs Tower (1929), plus a two-story Luhrs Arcade connecting both high-rises and coming in 2016 the 19-story Luhrs City Center Marriott. With Phoenix booming with entrepreneurism, Tallwave, a commercializer, paired up with the Hansji Corporation, owners of the Center, to launch their High Tide program, and added in a few perks.
Jeff Pruitt, founding partner and CEO of Tallwave comments on the partnership, “We’re proud to have the Luhrs team as a partner, and thrilled that our High Tide program can be a driving force in this endeavor.”
The High Tide program helps early-stage companies take their product to market through mentoring, hands-on services, networking, design assistance and more. Applications are open for the national High Tide program from now until February 28, 2015. Tallwave will select eight startups who will stay full-time in Arizona and provide for them a dedicated office space located on third floor of the Center, hands-on training to take their product to market and prepare the companies for funding, a monthly $1,000 cash stipend for living expenses and complimentary hotel space (if needed) to build their company.
“Through our company’s vision and commitment, the vibrancy of Luhrs has been reestablished,” said Rajan Hansji, President of Hansji Corporation. “Our partnership with Tallwave continues this vision and brings the Valley’s premier venture development company to Downtown Phoenix.”
