Greater Phoenix Economic council (GPEC) selected Chris Camacho as their newest President in an announcement today.
After serving as executive vice president of GPEC since 2008 Camacho will take the helm and help bring more companies to Phoenix.
Camacho replaced former president and CEO Barry Broome who left Phoenix in December for to take over the Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council as president and CEO.

The board of directors voted Camacho in unanimously.
“I am fully invested in seeing the future sustainability of our region supported by significant business growth and collaborative economic development initiatives,” Camacho said.
GPEC has led the attraction of 174 companies, including San Francisco’s Prosper, Zenefits and GoDaddy’s Global Technology Center, resulting in 26,688 jobs during Camacho’s tenure.
