Phoenix-founded Pivot Freight receives $2.8 million in seed funding

Pivot Freight, a Phoenix-founded but Austin, Texas-based company that helps businesses compare and reduce shipping costs, announced Monday that it received $2.8 million in seed round funding led by Silverton Partners.
The company moved to Austin this year to participate in the Techstars accelerator program, a highly rigorous and competitive three-month exercise. Pivot Freight graduated from Techstars and has been operating out of Austin since.

In addition to the new funding, Pivot Freight also announced that Rob Taylor of TrueCar, Inc. and BlackLocus will be the company’s new CEO.
“This capital infusion and the addition of Rob to the founding team enables us to accelerate our growth, and we are thrilled to now make Austin our home. The support ecosystem here for emerging technology companies has been incredible,” said Dan Bebout, founder and president of Pivot Freight.
The company plans to use the new cash infusion to hire in engineering and sales, as well as expand on its customer base.
