You’ve been there, long waits at the emergency room, sometimes four hours or more. At some point, you might reconsider the visit and find another way to deal with a minor situation.
To solve this problem and avoid trips to urgent care, there’s Healthiest You — a solution that aims to be the Uber for healthcare.
Specializing in on-the-fly virtual consultations with doctors, the company offers a bundle of health-focused tools such as an online wellness program, prescription cost comparison and a savings engine.
Whether you want a plan to track and coach you through your weight loss journey or a quick health evaluation, Healthiest You provides a central platform to manage your wellness plan, track nutrition and access nearly 2,300 concierge doctors.
Healthiest You’s bundle of services has pushed its membership base to grow by 44 percent this third quarter and the company announced last week that it would be expanding its technology development to Old Town Scottsdale’s growing tech hub.
The second office of Healthiest You is located off of Stetson Drive in Scottsdale, near the Galleria Corporate Centre and Arizona State University’s SkySong, where companies such as Weebly, Yodle and Zenefits have expanded to in recent months.

So, what exactly is attracting these companies to the Valley of the Sun’s affluent and creative area? Well, there’s a couple of reasons, Healthiest You CEO Jim Prendergast said.
“We liked the idea of staying in our headquarters city,” Prendergast said. “The south Scottsdale area is attracting other tech companies, and we like being close to all the energy that brings.”
Along with this, Old Town Scottsdale is just a 10 minute drive away from Tempe, which is an attractive area to recruit top technical talent out of ASU, Prendergast added.
With its expansion, Healthiest You is already hiring developers and client success managers to continue the development and innovation of the company’s health and wellness services.

While Healthiest You already offers unlimited 24/7 access to physicians via phone, email and video consultations (with no co-pay), the company has plans for mobile expansion.
“It’s an exciting time for Healthiest You,” Prendergast said. “We will be launching our game-changing member engagement app, which will give members instant access, choice, information and power when it comes to managing their personal healthcare needs.”
While the app won’t launch until early 2015, Healthiest You members will be able to use the app to manage their account at the touch of a screen, giving them more freedom in how they are able to access doctors.
“We like to think of it as Uber meets healthcare,” Prendergast said.
