Startup Force Impact Technologies crush it at Tech Crunch Disrupt

With over 38 million (reported) sport related-concussions in the US, founders of Force Impact Technologies, wanted to develop something to help young athletes prevent against potential brain damage and developed FITGuard, a head-injury awareness mouthguard. When an athlete has a collision with another athlete or object the mouthguard, via Bluetooth, will indicate the amount of force endured through a visual display and send the impact information to ones’ smartphone and their database. The product is designed for amateur athletes between 12-24 years old with a price point of under $100, and BPA-free.

Force showcased their technology at Tech Crunch Disrupt 2014. Since our last report where they won the ACVC Territorial Cup and were named a finalist for College Entrepreneur of the Year, they are now gearing up for a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo (launching October) and will use the funding to take their product to production and market.
