TASER Q2 report shows increased sales for body-cams among local police depts.

Taser International Inc., a leading Conducted Electrical Weapons used by law enforcement, military and security around the world, released their quarterly earnings for 2014 at $37.2 million, a 13 percent decline resulting from higher expenses in sales, general and administrative category. However, since they have entered the wearable technology and digital evidence management game, they did see a boost in sales in their AXON® cameras, EVIDENCE.COM AND TASER CAM HD recorders.
One city helping out with the sales is the Mesa Police Department, they received approval to purchase 300 AXON body-worn cameras and a subscription to EVIDENCE.com, allowing them to upload their footage after each shift. During the one-year pilot program, the officers experienced a 40 percent decrease in complaints and 75 decrease in use of force complaints. TASER also noted in their report that Gilbert and Peoria police departments are too adopting the technology.
