National Instruments (NI), a producer of automated equipment and virtual instrumentation software, is partnering with TechShop, a chain of member-based workshop spaces located throughout the country, to provide them with NI’s latest tech tools and training.
According to Jon Barbara, general manager for TechShop Chandler, the implementation of the NI equipment will allow for anyone to access to state-of-the-art electronic testing/monitoring equipment for the first time.
This includes software tools like myRIO, myDAQ and the hardware Virtual Bench, which combines five different electronics-testing tools into one tool, which is controlled via an app on the PC or iPad instead of a physical screen.
“Things like this will give hobbyists, inventors and students an edge in product design and testing, being able to work out the bugs and kinks in a clean concise manner,” said Jon Barbara, general manager for TechShop Chandler. “This is going to be a huge benefit for our members, and in return a huge benefit for the creative community.”
Currently, the partnership has been implemented at the San Francisco and Round Rock, Texas locations, but TechShop Chandler and other locations will enjoy these benefits in the near future.
