While parents anxiously await the Fall school session to start, the Arizona Tech Council had their own version of summer school and wasted no time with a red pen to assign letter grades to Arizona’s senators and representatives incumbents who are running for reelection or a seat in a different chamber. The report card was released in their biannual report, the Vote TechSmart guide that provides a breakdown of the candidates and their positions as it relates to technology growth.
With the AZTC Public Policy Committee playing the role as the Professor, they interviewed nearly 70 incumbent and non-incumbent candidates, conducted a candidate survey and reviewed each legislator’s voting record on specific bills that further technology efforts to then arrive at the assigned grade.
Also in the report, the AZTC announced 2014 endorsements for specific Arizona legislators. To date, they are staying silent on U.S. Congress and statewide races.
