The Arizona Technology Council will be hosting the first Tucson Tech + Business Expo on October 16, 2013, bringing together a diverse group of Tucson-based technology, software, and manufacturing companies.
Some of the featured guests will be Raytheon, Universal Avionics, National Instruments, Honeywell and B/E Aerospace, who will be presenting their business requirements to an audience of over 30 companies who are looking to build key business relationships.
City of Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will present the Tucson Tech Expo Business Leader of the Year Award. This award is presented each year to a business leader who has made significant contributions that help make Arizona “the fastest growing tech hub in the nation”.
I had the chance to speak to Alex Rodriguez, director of the Arizona Technology Council of Southern Arizona, about the upcoming Expo.
How does it feel to have all these businesses coming together for the expo?
It feels excellent to witness such a unique demand for the Tucson Tech and Business Expo where technology and manufacturing connect. We’ve had to turn down requests for exhibitor booths due to capacity and selling out relatively quickly. This is indicative of a growing tech sector across Arizona and the Tucson region in particular. Our members are hungry to connect and grow faster so signature events such as the Tucson Tech Expo help them accelerate their business objectives.

How will the participants benefit from attending?

Participants [will have] uncovered new business opportunities, made new connections for possible business deals and learned much more about our collective regional capabilities in terms of technology, innovation, manufacturing and growth potential.
On-site registration will begin and the Expo will open at 12:30 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center located at 3800 E. River Road, Tucson, Arizona, 85718.
The Expo will also give attendees plenty of time for one-on-one networking and to showcase their portfolio of services and technologies. For a complete list of exhibitors, click here.
