48 West, lovers of food, music, and technology, are bringing everyone together once again for their annual ‘Startup Camp’ event. Taking place this year at the Chandler City Hall on February 15th & 16th, 48 West wants to show you the best things that our 48th state has to offer!
With a heavy emphasis on technology and entrepreneurship, 48 West wants to gather all of the Valley’s top thinkers, developers, designers, and dreamers (and pile them all into one room) so they can rapidly launch their new startup idea…in two days, might I add.
With an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, good tasting grub, and cool beats, 48 West hopes you can get comfy and settle in for some serious work. The camp quickly begins with ‘The Concept Pitch’. Listen to what others want to launch, and hear their rationale behind it. Startup campers will vote on the top ideas, and be formed into teams around the most inspiring startups.
The teams will then be mentored through the startup process by some of the Valley’s best. Talk with, and listen to the likes of Jaime Casap (@jcasap) of Google, Martin Zwilling (@startuppro), T.J. Jennings (@azcommerce) of the Arizona Commerce Authority, and many others all speaking on topics such as team building, early stage startups, feasibility, marketing, piloting, and technology initiation.
On Saturday evening, each team will present their ‘Final Pitch’ at the 48 West Public Festival. Now remember campers, this is what you’ll be evaluated on:
1. Marketability – The idea is different from other products and marketable
2. Feasibility – Team has a reasonable plan and time frame to complete their product
3. Go to Market Strategy – The teams market strategy is sound
4. Timeline – The team has the ability to launch their product and generate revenue within one year
5. Team – The team either possesses or has identified required talent
There to judge you will be local VC professionals, as well as many of the 48 West keynote speakers. Click here to sign up, and here to see who all will be there!
