Business Development and Media Sponsorship Sales Representative

AZ Tech Beat has been voted as one of the top technology blogs in the country and recognized by USA Today as the “Go-To” news source for what is happening in the Arizona tech scene. We cover startups, funding, gaming, the latest gadgets, leadership, events and more.

Our purpose is to be the medium for the AZ tech community, share our thriving ecosystem with other tech cities through our multi-media platform and expose the awesome.

You’ll work in a Google-like office, with free meals twice a week, beanbags for chairs, a Zen room, office dogs, game room, workout facility, do I need to go on? Oh and our parent company is Axosoft. The company is regarded as one of the best places to work in Arizona and our founder was noted as one of the most respected CEOs in Arizona.

The awesome job

The amazing candidate will be expected to build relationships inside the community and share the story of AZ Tech Beat.

Your goal will be to create and sell branded sponsorships for AZ Tech Beat’s website and events. You will be building relationships with companies and public relation firms representing clients who pair well with our readers and want to build brand awareness and capture their attention.

Candidates possess:

Previous media relations or ad sales experience

Strong sales background

Comfortable making cold calls

A “closer” personality

Excellent follow-up skills

Self-motivated

Ability to provide excellent service and respect to our clients

Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organization skills

Nerf gun skills required – you might be subject to a nerf war

Ability to work in a co-working environment and work with the AZTB team to generate leads and evaluate effectiveness

Must love dogs

Education:

College degree in business, communication or marketing

Expectations:

While this is a results-driven job, you must be able to determine what activities lead to the desired results, and then formulate a course of action to meet those activities and in turn achieve the goals

Attend events or conferences sponsored by AZTB and community organizations –  many events are during nontraditional work hours.

Must be flexible and able to travel

Networking is a must
