Phoenix Fashion Week struts 3D printed monocles, laser cut jackets and new app for fashionistas

Tech is increasingly becoming a bigger part of the fashion industry — from apps, to 3D printing.
At Phoenix Fashion Week this year, designer Azmara Asefa showcased her clothing designs. Models strutted down the runway with her laser cut jackets and 3D printed jewelry and monocles.

For the runway, Azmara created laser cut eye patches with unique patterns for her models to wear.
Asefa created three versions: an open monocle, a closed monocole, and a stalactite monocle which included a lot of fine detail.

Since I love geometry, the pattern was generated from a fractal,” Asefa said.

Arizona startup Atticue was on scene to capture the vibe and attitude and market their app, which lets users discover events going on in Arizona and filter out those events based on mood.

The organization behind Phoenix Fashion Week also launched their app this past weekend. The app allows users to shop designs after the event, view upcoming events, and vote for their favorite designers during fashion shows.
