Workshops, media lab, mentorship and more – free resources to grow your business
Ashley Garcia

Building connections and utilizing free resources are two excellent ways to drive results for today’s entrepreneurs. Whether you are seeking access to basic office space or need to find 3D printing stat, we’ve rounded up the best locations to check out some FREE resources:

Digital Solutions Lab, Cronkite School’s newest addition, gives the ASU community and the public the chance to receive guidance from professional entrepreneurs and Web developers at the New Media Innovation Lab, a technological hub where students from across disciplines come together to create cutting-edge digital media products. Students will also be able to complete entrepreneurial projects, websites and other digital ventures such as mobile app development. They will also receive Adobe software support and offer direction to additional tools and informational resources.

The lab is open to the public on select Fridays: Sept. 19, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14. Individuals are welcome to visit the lab, located in Cronkite 206 on the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus, from 1 to 4 p.m. Learn more here.

GangPlank is unique in that it doesn’t charge a membership fee for their workspaces. Instead, it runs off donations by the people who use them. Everyone is asked to donate in a way that is meaningful to them (by offering mentorship to others, for example) to keep the offices running. Take a look at their event and mentoring schedule here.

Arizona State University partners with LaunchPoint, a free program to train entrepreneurs in a variety of methodologies, to validate business ideas, and to position their companies for funding opportunities. Innovation Hub in Goodyear provides community members the opportunity to connect, collaborate and find valuable resources. Learn more here.

If 3D printing is your cup of tea, 3D Hubs can be considered a plausible alternative to paying a monthly fee at a 3D printing shop. Some tech shops charge up to $100/month in order to use their services, while 3D Hubs allows maker fanatics to place individual orders, which presents the opportunity to build the maker community one 3D printed object at a time. Imagine and create today with the help of 3D Hubs. Find your local hub here!
