Startup Crowd Mics bring home a win from SXSW V2Venture

Talk about hitting the jackpot! Crowd Mics, an app that turns your smarphone into a wireless microphone, is on a roll and scooping up wins at pitch competitions. At SXSW V2Venture in Las Vegas, Crowd Mics took home the trophy for the Mobile and Tablet Technologies category.
Co-founders and brothers, Tim and Sean Holladay pitched to a panel of judges including Jeff Tannenbaum (Blue Run Ventures), Bubba Murarka (Draper FisherJurvetson) and Thomas Ball (Austin Venture), with  Christine Herron (Intel Capital) as the emcee. For this competition the brothers had to sharpen their message since their last intense pitch at the San Francisco LAUNCH conference a few months back.

“We had to consolidate our pitch to two minutes, which felt like two seconds on stage. It was challenging to try to portray all of the most important aspects of our business in 120 seconds, but a great challenge. Fortunately, we had 10 minutes of Q&A and good feedback. The panel was excited about Crowd Mics,” Tim said.

Crowd Mics have been in the spotlight and recently recognized by USA Today as an emerging startup. The exposure at SXSW shines a brighter light on their concept and Arizona startups in general.
“The SXSW brand has given us even more credibility. For an early stage company who recently launched, we appreciate the additional validation for Crowd Mics-and winning was just icing on the cake!”
